Rhodochrosite is a beautiful pink to rose-red coloured mineral that belongs to the carbonate group of minerals. Its chemical composition is manganese carbonate (MnCO3). It is often found in association with other manganese minerals in sedimentary and hydrothermal deposits.

Rhodochrosite is found in various locations around the world, including Argentina, Peru, South Africa, Mexico, the United States (Colorado), and Romania. Some of the most notable deposits are found in the Andes Mountains of South America. 

In metaphysical and healing practices, rhodochrosite is believed to have various properties, including promoting self-love, compassion, and emotional healing. It is associated with the heart chakra and is said to help balance emotions, release past traumas, and foster a sense of inner peace.
